Outstanding Alumna Nancy Rao Received Award from The American Musicological Society for her PublicationOutstanding Alumna of NTNTU, Prof. Nancy Rao, Head of the Music Theory Department, was presented with the Music in American Culture Award for her book Chinatown Opera Theatre in North America: The transformation of Chinese Music into American Music in the Early Twentieth Century (University of Illinois Press, 2017). This award is to recognize her achievement personally but also the major contribution the Chinese American has to the society and culture in the states. NTNU students and teachers shared this good news and President Wu praised Rao for her accomplishment academically in the field of music.

Alumni Tan Chee Lay, Choong Kam Ko received Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award`In order to recognize foreigners who have studied in Taiwan, the Study in Taiwan (SIT) Talent Database Project Office of the Ministry of Education has set up the first "Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award". Recently, the list of awardees with outstanding achievement and contribution in the fields of academic research, industry & commerce, politics, humanities & communications and other which deserves to be recognized was revealed. Among 7 awardees, there are two alumni from NTNU. One is Choong Kam Kow in the field of Art and Tan Chee Lay in the academic field.
