Transnational Sustainability Forum Opens New Global Learning Platform

NTNU launched the “2026 NTNU × Glasgow × Kyushu Winter Institute on Sustainability” in January, establishing a new cross-national platform for sustainability education during the university’s 65-day winter break. The program and its accompanying “2026 Transnational Forum on Sustainability” brought together more than 300 students and professionals from 15 countries and 13 universities.

NTNU College of Education–Founded APATE Officially Joins WERA

The Asia-Pacific Association for Teacher Education (APATE), established under the leadership of the College of Education at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), has recently officially become a member of the World Education Research Association (WERA). This milestone marks a significant step forward for Taiwan’s teacher education research in engaging with the global academic community and reflects the increasing international engagement and academic presence of NTNU’s College of Education.

Edwin Lun Awarded Honorary Doctorate for Contributions to Overseas Chinese Education

On January 8, NTNU conferred an Honorary Doctor of Social Sciences degree on Chairman Edwin Lun of the Dragon Gate Education Fund, recognizing his decades of support for overseas Chinese education and humanitarian initiatives. Through scholarships established for the Academy of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Compatriot Students, Lun has assisted more than a thousand Myanmar overseas Chinese students in pursuing their studies in Taiwan. During periods of conflict in Myanmar, he also launched the “Dragon Gate Charter Flights” program to help stranded students travel safely to Taiwan and continue their education.
