President Awarded a Second Rank Order of Brilliant Star to Honor Prof. Li Shu De

LI Shu De, age 88, is a renowned violinist and honor Prof. at Department of Music, NTNU. On the 22nd of May, President Tsai awarded a second rank order of brilliant Star to honor her contribution on music education in Taiwan. At the Presidential Hall concert that was held at Pingtung for the first time out of the Presidential hall, four outstanding students of Li performed a special piece for their gratitude to their teacher.

Work from Low Wei Ming from Music Dept. entered 2017 International Rostrum for Composers

Low Wei Ming, a senior student of the Music Department at NTNU, has been recognized by the Composers Music Council of UNESCO and his work “Original Voice” will represent Taiwan to the 2017 International Rostrum for Composers.

Honorary Doctoral Degree Referral Ceremony of Gao Xingjian

On May 22nd, the Honorary Doctoral Degree Referral Ceremony of Nobel Laurate Gao Xingjian was held at NTNU for his great accomplishment on literature, writing, art and theatre. His works show compassion for human beings. Gao said that he has left China for 30 years and he consider Paris home where he does all his work. But, he has a hometown, Taiwan.

Wansai Kyoko Okada creates scholarship for NTNU

To promote the connection between Taiwan and Japan as well as foster the study of Taiwan-Japan relationship, Mr. and Mrs. Okada and Chairman Dai establish a scholarship for the Graduate Institute of Taiwan History and signed the MOU. Director General of the Tourism Bureau came the signing event.

Prof. Jeng Yih Receives Honor from EGU

Retired Professor Jeng Yih of the Department of Earth Sciences is awarded as the lifelong honor member of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) and they also asked him to be the judge of the Outstanding Student Poster and PICO (OSPP) Awards in 2017.
