Lin Shuo Chun from Music Dept. Won 1st Prize of 2018 Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition

The 9th International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition was held in Cezch, Prague. Taiwanese musician again shines on the International stage. Taiwanese composer, age 22, not only received the 1st prize among junior but also For the best free composition among Junior and For the best Fuga.

3D Reconstruction System, a Leading Technique, by NTNU team

Iterative reconstruction is to iterative algorithms used to reconstruct 2D and 3D images in certain imaging techniques. Under the financial assistance of the Ministry of Science and Technology, The team of Professor Yeh Chia Hung from the Department of Electrical Engineering has developed a cost-effective “fast 3D reconstruction system” that can not only reconstruct still scene in a high quality but also reconstruct objects that change with time.

NTNU Tops the Ranking in Category of Humanity, Law and Business

This year, NTNU was ranked the first in 50 universities in the category of Humanities, Law and Business in a research done by GV Monthly magazine. When it comes to academic achievement, NTNU has contributed the most research paper written in Chinese among Taiwan universities. On average, one faculty write almost 2.5 paper, which is significantly high compared to others. NTNU works closely with the industry and on average, one teacher contributes 1.2962 million of income by industry-university cooperative project, which is also the top in Taiwan.

NTNU, NCCU and NTUST work with Nanyang Technological University for Creativity Program

National Chengchi University, National Taiwan Normal University and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology work with Nanyang Technological University for creativity program "Three For One Course". The opening ceremony of "Three For One Course", which is the first cooperation between the three universities, was hosted by Vice President's representatively. This is the first creativity program by universities in Taiwan and it last five years.

2018 International Conference on Solutions to Global Democracy Crisis

2018 International Conference on Solutions to Global Democracy Crisis was held by the Department of East Asian Studies and Canadian Trade Office in Taipei on July 7th. Prof. Erik Kuhonta from McGill University, Prof. Hans Hanpu Tung from NTU, Prof. Roberto Foa from the University of Melbourne and researcher Tao Wang from the University of Manchester have discussed the topics of democracy from different aspects. Vice President Sung Yao Ting, Deputy Director Mr. Michael McCulloch of the Canadian Trade Office gave some welcome remarks. Director Chiang Bo Wei from the Department of East Asian Studies the hosted the closing part.
