Prof. Sheu Tian Ming Receives the Distinguished Alumni from the Teacher’s college of Columbia University
The Teacher’s college of Columbia University is one of the most prestigious institutes in the world that trains teachers and its alumni can be found all over the world. Columbia University receives hundreds of recommendation of alumni every year and select 4 to 5 alumni who are outstanding and influential. These alumni will be given the Distinguished Alumni and Early Career Award. This year, the award was given to a Taiwanese alumni for the first time, Prof. Sheu, Tian Ming, who is the President of Taiwan’s National Academy for Educational Research and President of the National Academy of Educational Research.2016.1221
Chair Prof. Ovid J.L. Tzeng Become Member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts
On December 7, 2016, Chair Professor Ovid J.L. Tzeng received a formal letter from Prof. Dr. H. C. Felix Unger, President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, to inform him of his election as Member of this august body. President Unger also invited Board Member Tzeng to journey to Salzburg in March 2017 in order to receive a medal honoring this achievement, as well as devote future efforts to the causes of promoting the Academy’s new NEXT EUROPE project and the Alma Mater Europaea program dedicated to cultivating young talent. Three NTNU Professors Received Art Education Contribution Award
On the 5th of December, the ceremony of the third Art Education Contribution Prize was held. Chair Prof. Liao Shiou Ping, the father of printmaking, and Prof. Ann CS Kuo, received the honorary award. Prof. Lin Shu-Cheng from the Graduate Institute of Performing Arts received the excellent teacher award.2016.1211
Prof. Hsieh Chih Mou, first Non-American receiving AEE Michael Stratton Practitioner’s Award
Hsieh Chih Mou is the first non-American that received the AEE Michael Stratton Practitioner’s Award in 30 years. Prof. Hsieh shared with us his stories of leading the students to raise funds to build schools in Nepal, India and northern Thailand and the audience was so touched that they clapped for 2 minutes after his speech.2016.1129
