NTNU and National Defense University to Train Army Interpreters

To train professional army interpreters, National Defense University signed an agreement with NTNU for "Army Interpretation of International Program of Institute for National Strategic Studies". The courses will be taught by teachers from the Graduate Institute of Translation and Interpretation. On the signing ceremony, President Chang Kuo En said that both universities have been home to military elites and educational elites. With this cooperation, they can find more talent together.

Alumni Chen Chien Chen Joined the V.League in Japan

Chen Chien Chen, who have wanted to play in Japan, went to China in 2015 after his contract with Mizuno Men’s Volleyball Team as one of the first Taiwanese players that challenged the Chinese Volleyball League. His skills have sharpened in the last two years. Chen played in games like Universiade, Asian Championship and Volleyball World League. Now, the 28-year-old pro volleyball player finally joined the V.League in Japan.

NTNU Ranked 176-200 in 2018 THE World University Rankings for Arts and Humanities

Times Higher Education has announced the latest World University Rankings 2018 by subject: arts and humanities. Only two universities in Taiwan made to the list of top 400 universities. National Taiwan Normal University is ranked 176-200 while National Taiwan University is ranked 126-150.

Seminar of Education for Sustainable Development in NTNU

The Northern Environmental Education Regional Center held an international symposium on "Education for Sustainable Development" at NTNU from September 13 to 14, inviting scholars from the Netherlands, America, Japan, Singapore, Korea and Taiwan to discuss contemporary environmental educational issues.

NTNU and National Museum of Natural Science Discover Pachyrhynchus Jitanasaius

The Department of Life Science of National Taiwan Normal University and National Museum of Natural Science have published papers about the “striped” Curculionidae that only live in the Green Island. Pachyrrhynchus is only found in the Orchid Island and the Green Island and many of them are protected species. Recently, the two institutes discovered the pachyrhynchus jitanasaius that is endemic to Green Island.
