Mysterious Master Defeated 60 Go players developed by Aja Huang

A mysterious Go player named “Master” has won 60 matches in a row on a Chinese Go website lately since December 29th, 2016. People have been guessing the real identity of the player, and now Master have revealed itself as AlphaGo, the artificial intelligence Goplayer from Google and Aja Huang, the lead programmer played the game according to the system’s moves. Huang is the 16th Excellent Alumni Award receiver.

Alumna Wang Sue Lein Receives National Professorships

The 15th Excellent Alumni Award Receiver Wang Sue Lein was awarded the lifetime honorable award National Professorships by the Ministry of Education. Wang now serves as professor at the Department of Chemistry of National Tsing Hua University, focusing on Solid-state Inorganic Materials Chemistry and X-ray Crystallography. When speaking of her study history, Prof. Wang said that the key to success is to work hard and being down to earth.

On December 20th, Associate Prof. Rome Chiranukrom, Acting Vice President of the Chiang Mei University came visited NTNU with the accompany of a graduate student from NTU. Vice President We, Deputy Director Huang from OIA received them and welcomed them.

Christmas Party at MTC

Upon the arrival of Christmas, MTC has prepared a set of celebration events for foreign students that come to Taiwan to study. In the morning of December 23rd, small gifts were available and the most expected Christmas singing contest was held. Students, faculties and teachers all enjoyed a happy evening.

Urawa Girl’s High School Visit Taipei with NTNU Students

Taiwan has become the top choice of Japanese School Trip because of its location. In mid-December, Urawa Girl’s High School student arrived in Taiwan for a 4 day study tour. One of the day was planned by students of Geography Department who want to show Japanese students the charming Taipei.
