Prof. Sheu Tian Ming Receives the Distinguished Alumni from the Teacher’s college of Columbia University

The Teacher’s college of Columbia University is one of the most prestigious institutes in the world that trains teachers and its alumni can be found all over the world. Columbia University receives hundreds of recommendation of alumni every year and select 4 to 5 alumni who are outstanding and influential. These alumni will be given the Distinguished Alumni and Early Career Award. This year, the award was given to a Taiwanese alumni for the first time, Prof. Sheu, Tian Ming, who is the President of Taiwan’s National Academy for Educational Research and President of the National Academy of Educational Research.

NTNU Grabbed Championships at 105 University Volleyball League

The University Volleyball League was held on March 26th, NTNU again grabbed two championship on both men and women team. This is the 7th championship for the women’s’ team in a row and the 10th consecutive championship for the men’s team.

Tang Chia Hung, student of NTNU and athlete of Chinese Taipei Team bring honor from the FIG Artistic Individual Apparatus World Cup in March 24th, breaking the record of Chinese Taipei.

Linguists Prof. MacWhinney Talks to NTNU

Prof. Brian MacWhinney from Carnegie Mellon University was invited to give a speech about the limits of age differences on language learning. Brian MacWhinney is a Professor of Psychology and Modern Languages at Carnegie Mellon University, who is specializes in first and second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, and the neurological bases of language. The speech was held on March 22nd under the initiation of Aim for the Top University office. The topic is “Biological(?) Limits on Success in Second Language Learning”, discussing the difference in language of people from different age groups.

Alumni Lin Ching Han Received the 3rd Prize at Viola Competition

Lin Ching Han, alumni from the Department of Music class 2014, was awarded the third prize for the International Anton Rubinstein Competition for Viola 2017. When he was at school, he served as the concert master of the National Taiwan Normal University Symphony Orchestra and study under Prof. Chinn-Horng Nanette CHEN and Prof. Jui-Se Yang. His teacher praised Lin as a student that commits to his work. Lin stated on facebbook that he will keep up his hard work to achieve his next goal.
