NTNU Helps Draw the Blue Map of IT Education

To catch up with the new generation, you need to know more than hanging on facebook. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has listed digital literacy as one of the key abilities in the 21st century. Future talents should be productive with the help of a computer. Under the assistant of NTNU, the Ministry of Education listed the blue map of digital education for the next 5 years. In year 2018, information and technology will be included as obligatory courses and students will learn how to write code and apps. It’s hoped that middle school and Elementary school students will have lessons with the help of tablets and other mobile devices.

Credit Programs for NTU Triangle Alliance Students

National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) are three geologically related institutes of higher education, each with its own academic focus. In order to best integrate their resources, the three universities have together established the “NTU Triangle Alliance”, with a principle of equality and mutual benefit. In addition to the courses available to students of the three universities, partial spots from the credit programs will be provided since next semester.

Singaporean Students Come to Taiwan for Practicum

This year, National Taiwan Normal University is cooperating with National Institute of Education from Singapore for the third practicum program. In 2016, NIE will send 6 students for teaching practicum from May 2nd to June 3rd. 6 NTNU students will go to Singapore in the summer.

NTNU Teams up with UBC for Academic Leadership Development Program

NTNU signed an MOU of Academic Leadership Development Programs in Higher Education with the century old University of British Columbia on March 22nd. The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Professor Blye Frank, signed the MOU with the Dean of College of Education. This program will first be carried out in NTNU this August. A series of motivating activities and courses which prepares and supports academic leaders in their roles will be included for the heads of University offices It’s hoped that other universities in Taiwan or even other Asian universities will be interested to held similar actives.
