Nobel Judge Swedish Sinologist Göran Malmqvist Dies Aged 95

Internationally known Swedish Sinologist Göran Malmqvist, Chair Professor at the Department of Chinese, dies on October 17th, aged 95. His wife Chen Wen Feng said that Ma dies peacefully at home. He was not only elected to the Swedish Academy but also the only Sinologist among the Nobel Literature Prize judges. He had been dedicated to the study of Chinese literature and has translated over 50 classic Chinese literature including Journey to the West, Water Margin, Classic of Poetry.

Prof. Chang Yu Kai, Prof. Hsiao Hsien Sheng Received Outstanding Research Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology

Chair Professor Hsiao Hsien Sheng of the Dept. of Technology Application and Human Resource Development and Chair Professor Chang Yu Kai of the Department of Physical Education are selected among nearly 1000 outstanding scholars as the awardee of the Outstanding Research Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2019. This is an embodiment of our solid research power.

Su Wen Yu from Dept. of Design wins Gold at MIFA

Su Wen Yu, a student of the Department of Design, received the gold award of Moscow International Foto Awards 2019 with her work Our Nature Playground. The photo features a young boy representing pure and future in the contrast image of a beach full of plastic waste.

Amy Yeh, Graduate Student of GF-EMBA Tops International Hair & Makeup Trends

The 35th Hair & Makeup Trends was held in Manila on April 23rd. More than 100 contestants from Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Australia, Vietnam, China, Philippines gathered for all sorts of beauty techniques like hairdressing, nail art and styling. This year, 15 Taiwanese joined the competition. Amy Yeh, a student at GF-EMBA and a styling Director at Winmake Styling Company, won five medals, including barbie doll, mask makeup, making her the individual overall champion.
