How Comments Can Make or Break Your Crowdfunding Campaign

With the rise of internet financing, crowdfunding has become an important channel for many small and medium-sized enterprises and individual entrepreneurs to obtain funding. However, the common “all-or-nothing” outcome of crowdfunding campaigns is often a painful hurdle for entrepreneurs. Professor Yen-Chun Jim Wu from National Taiwan Normal University’s Graduate Institute of Global Business and Strategy used algorithms to conduct sentiment analysis on campaign comments made before and after fundraising. His research explored the predictive power of online comments for crowdfunding outcomes. The findings show that incorporating early-stage comments during a campaign can significantly increase the likelihood of crowdfunding success.

College of Technology and Engineering Partners with Indonesia’s APTIKOM to Advance Academic Exchange

A new partnership between the Association of Higher Education in Informatics and Computers (APTIKOM), Indonesia, and the NTNU College of Technology and Engineering (CTE) was formalized on September 11 with the signing of a Letter of Intent for academic exchange. The agreement marks a step toward closer collaboration in higher education between the two institutions.

Campus Condorcet Visits NTNU to Discuss Global Challenges in the Humanities and Social Sciences

On Friday, September 5, 2025, Prof. Pierre‐Paul Zalio, President of the Établissement Public Campus Condorcet (EPCC) and the Conseil Présidentiel de la Science of France, together with Prof. Pascale Laborier, core initiator of the Universities in Exile (UXIL) program at Campus Condorcet, visited National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). They delivered a special lecture at the Continuing Education Building, titled “The Humanities and Social Sciences Facing Today's Challenges.” The event was attended by NTNU President Prof. Cheng Chih Wu, Executive Vice Presidents Prof. Yao-Ting Sung and Prof. Frank Yung-Hsiang Ying, VP for Academic Affairs Prof. Mei-Hui Liu, VP for Student Affairs Prof. Mei-Chun Lin, VP for Research and Development Prof. Ying-Shao Hsu, VP for International Affairs Prof. Yi-De Liu, Deans, Associate Deans, Faculty, Students, and Administrative Staff, totaling nearly eighty participants. The gathering highlighted NTNU’s leadership and international collaboration in the humanities and social sciences.

NTNU Shines at Edinburgh Fringe with Acclaimed Original Works

The NTNU Graduate Institute of Performing Arts earned glowing international reviews at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with two original productions: "Formosa Viva" and "Echoes of the Ghost Lake." Blending dance, music, and storytelling, these works brought Taiwan’s history and creative energy to one of the world’s largest and most influential arts stages.

NTNU Hosts Summer Program on Semiconductors and AI with Japanese Universities

NTNU launched a two-week summer program on Semiconductors and Artificial Intelligence, bringing 28 students from Kumamoto University and Prefectural University of Kumamoto to Taiwan for intensive study. Co-taught by NTNU’s College of Science and College of Technology and Engineering, the program combined lectures on semiconductor fundamentals, circuit design, and AIoT applications with company visits to TSMC and ACEBiotek. Conducted in English, the curriculum also included Mandarin lessons, cultural activities, and joint projects with NTNU and Indonesian students, for a total of 49 participants. The initiative strengthens Taiwan–Japan cooperation in cultivating international talent while offering students valuable academic training and cross-cultural experience in a field central to the global economy.
