Bronze for Women’s Basketball Team at 2017 Universiade

The Chinese Taipei Women basketball team member Wang Wei Ling, Huang Hsiang Ting and Chen,Yen Yu are from the Department of Athletic Performance, NTNU. On August 28th, the team earned a bronze medal against Russian team 81-66 whose players are 2 meters tall. With the cheering voice of thousands of supporters, the players shook their shoulders dancing in the field with great joy.

2 Silver was taken by men and women’s team in Archery in 2017 Universiade

The final recurve men’s and women’s team both competed against Koreans and received two silver medals.

Chuang Chia Chia Won Silver in Taekowndo 2017 Universiade

Chuang Chia Chia, a Ph.D. student at NTNU and a Taekwondo athlete, made it to the final on August 23rd. However, Chuang lost to South Korean athlete Kim Jan Di by 7-14. After the game, Chuang said that she didn’t play to the fullest and the opponent found her weakness while she hesitated, which leads to lots of points. Chuang has no regrets since she has tried her best. The game took place at Taoyuan Arena. The audience cheered for Chuang Chia Chia whenever she showed up at the field. She has been defeating other contestants with obvious lead and Kim Jan Di was her opponent at the final game.

First Medal in 2017 Universiade Taken from NTNU Athletes

The 2017 Summer Universiade started on August 20th. On the first day, the Taiwan team took 1 silver and 2 bronze, and 1 silver and 1 bronze are from NTNU athletes. Lin Kan Yu, a sophomore at the Department of Athletes Performance, received silver in Women’s Individual freestyle Poomsa and Chen Chien Chuan, who just graduated from NTNU, received bonze in Men’s individual freestyle Poomsae.

Athletes Got 1 Gold and 1 Silver in Taekwondo Poomsae 2017 Universiade

On the second day of games, NTNU athletes continues to win glory for the country. Su Chia En from the Dept. of Athlete Performance grabbed the first gold medal in mixed pair poomsae with her partner Lee Cheng Gang. In the men's team category, Chang Wei Chieh, Hsieh Ming Yang and Huang Chia Jung garnered a silver medal with a final score of 7.587. The gold medal was won by Li Cheng Gang and Su Chia En in the mixed pair category, with a final score of 7.853.
