Gao Xingjian Encourages Students to Pursue Free Spirit
The Master’s speech of 2016 invited Chair Professor Gao Xingjian to share with students his wisdom under the topic of “Being a Free Man”. His work, Soul Mountain, received the honorable Nobel Prize in Literature 2000, making Gao the first Chinese author that won the title of a Nobel laureate. Violinist Maxim Vengerov Gave Masterclass in NTNU
Universally hailed as one of the world’s finest musicians, and often referred to as the greatest living string player in the world today, Grammy award winner Maxim Vengerov came to NTNU to give a masterclass in late May. The concert hall in the Music Department was crowded with more than 100 fans, students and teachers. He taught 4 first prize winners from different age groups, showing the audience his passion for music and teaching the next generation. The Director of Music Department, Nanette Chen said that, many of you may have come to the performance of Maxim Vengerov yesterday. Dept. of Electrical Engineering Got Golden Medal from Robot Competition
The Department of Electrical Engineering is specialized in robot studies. The student team lead by Prof. Hus Chen Chien James and Prof. Wang Wei Yen received gold medals again in the 2016 International Competition on Intelligent Humanoid Robotics.2016.0531
