Taiwan Scores 1 Gold and 2 Silver 1 Bronze at 2016 iGeo
Team of Taiwan did well at 2016 iGeo, taking 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal and the group ranking is number 5th in the world. The 13th International Geographic Olympiad was held in Beijing from August 16th to 20th. A total of 45 teams, 173 contestants joined the competition. Yao Yung Ruei the gold medalist said that he has been fascinated with maps and globe since little. He know how big the world is through leading geography. NTNU Goes to South East Asia for Students
In respond to the New Southbound Policy, Vice President of NTNU, Wu Cheng Chih led a group to Surabaya and Yogyakarta for the 2016 Taiwan Higher Education Exhibition in Indonesia-NTU System. This is the first time for the NTU System to recruit oversea. It’s hoped that this exhibition can attract local students to NTU System.2016.0827
Taiwan Scores 1 Gold and 1 Silver 2 Bronze at 2016 IOI
The Taiwan team, trained by professors of NTNU, had a good showing at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) hosted by the Russian city of Kazan from 12 to 19 August. A total of 83 countries and 308 participants are in this game. The Taiwan team got one gold, one silver and one bronze. Student from National Experimental High School at Hsinchu Science Park, Ho Ta Jui, was the best among the four, making him number 8 in the world with a total grade of 465.2016.0826
First Gold Medals from IYPT 2016
The Taiwan team, led and trained by NTNU professors, sponsored by Far Eastern Y. Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation participated in the International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT), grabbing the gold medal after winning in five competitions. Taiwan has been working under the help of the foundation since 2010, taking home silver and bronze medals. The 29th IYPT was held in Ekaterinburg, Russia. A total of 29 countries and 150 contestants are in the game. This is the first time in 7 years for the team to get a golden medal, along with Germany, Singapore and Switzerland as top 1 in the world.
