The ceremony of the 23rd National Chair Professorships, the 2nd National Award for Distinguished Contribution to Industry-Academia Cooperation and the 63rd Academic Awards was held by the Ministry of Education on June 9th. Dean of School of Learning Informatics Tsai Chin Chung has been working on science education and internet learning for more than two decades. Recently, he was given the 23rd National Chair professorships, which is also his second one after 2014. The awarding ceremony will be held on January 20th. Dean Tsai, age 49, is the youngest Honorary life-time National Chair professor in history.2019.1219
NTNU Student Comes Second in Roma International Piano Competition
Lin Dong Yi, a music major at class 2021 at the National Taiwan Normal University, won the second place in the 29th Roma International Piano Competition. Among 108 pianists from 20 countries on four continents, Lin won the heart of the judges with his exquisite piano skills and varied timbre. NTNU Graduate Student Lee Ming Feng Speaks at 2019 IAVE Conference
Lee Ming Feng, a graduate student at the Department of Civic Education and Leadership, was invited again as the speaker at the 16th IAVE Asia Pacific Volunteer Conference again. Lee also attended the conference in Germany as Taiwanese representative last year. This year, he and his team went to Bangkok, Thailand from November 10th to 15th as Taiwanese youth volunteer. He delivered a keynote speech “Make your Youth Volunteering Program simple and impactful” on November 14th, sharing his experience of managing volunteer groups across universities and serving. This year is the 17th year of Lee devoting himself into charity work, with more than 9,000 hours volunteering.2019.1122
