NTNU to reward instructors for teaching in Hokkien, Hakka and indigenous languages
National Taiwan Normal University has unveiled an incentive to support Taiwan’s local languages. Starting in February, NTNU faculty will receive a 50% hourly bonus for teaching in Hokkien, Hakka or any of Taiwan’s indigenous languages. If a teacher opens a course conducted in any of these languages, he or she can get a subsidy of NT$20,000 for class materials.

Center for Academic Literacy at NTNU Opened for Future Bilingual University
National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) has been selected to be one of the landmark bilingual universities for the Program of Bilingual Education for Students in College (the BEST Program). In pursuance of the Bilingual Nation policy, NTNU established the Center for Academic Literacy (CAL) in academic year 2021 in order to develop the English academic literacy of the undergraduate and graduate students at NTNU and train bilingual professionals in academic writing and speaking with the aim of improving the competitiveness as a higher education establishment.

Netherlands Office Taipei Paid Visit to NTNU for Cooperation Discussion
Representative of Netherlands Office Taipei Guido Tielman was invited to come to NTNU on October 28th. President Wu Cheng Chih, Vice President Ying-Shao Hsu of the Office of Research and Development and Associate Vice President Nikky Lin welcomed the guest and they discussed issues related to the cooperation between NTNU and the Netherlands.
