Vice President Frank Y-H Ying and administrator Hu from the Center of Public Affairs visited the head office of Sin Chew Daily on May 25th and talked about the scholarship for new foreign students, open up courses in all different fields, internationalization and gathering the power of alumni.

Taiwan Team Scores 4 Gold in 2018 APhO

The 19th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2018) was held at Hanoi, Vietnam on May 12th. The Taiwan team, trained by professors of NTNU, grabbed 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze this year. Chung Shang Hsuan, one senior student, is praised as the Most Deserving Performer of Theory Round by the chairperson.

NTNU Invite musicians for World University Concert

The Center for the Research & the Business Development of Asian Pop Culture is the organizer of Pop Music Interdisciplinary Development Project. The seminar, held at the Conference hall on April 20th and 21st. is about the development of pop music in Taiwan, the education of talents, various aspects of the academic and industry. Professors and musicians from Japan, America, Thailand, Indonesia are invited to sign the MOU of World University Concert and hope that the concert can serve as Universiade where talented college students can compete and exchange ideas through the competition.

Pre-service teachers went to UBC for Practice Teaching

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a public research university with campuses and facilities in Vancouver and Kelowna, British Columbia. Established in 1908, UBC is British Columbia's oldest institution of higher learning. The university is ranked among top 20 public universities worldwide and top two in Canada. UBC has close relationship with NTNU. The Office of Teacher Training and Career Service has been promoting the in practice teaching of pre-service teachers. In 2017, eight pre-service teachers have gone to UBC for a two-week practice teaching; three pre-service teachers from UBC have come to Taiwan and finished their practice teaching. Some significant result has shown to those who finish their practicum.

NTNU Prof. Jacky Baltes Assist with FIRA in Taiwan

Prof. Jacky Baltes of the Department of Electrical Engineering, also the chairman of Engineering Federation of International RoboSports Association, FIRA, handed out the certificate of membership and flag to the Ministry of Science and Technology and complete the ceremony with Minister Chen Liang Gee, and Director-General of Central Taiwan Science Park Dr. Chen Ming Huang, meaning the FIRA World Cup is now officially started. Faculties of the Department of Electrical Engineering are happy about it.
