The beauty of language is not necessarily dictated by linguistic features but by the way words and sounds are associated, Stephen Owen, a Harvard Sinologist and a 2018 Tang Prize laureate in Sinology, said at National Taiwan Normal University on Sept. 26.

An Oversea Apprenticeship in Sweden

National Taiwan Normal University has been given the fund for foreign education apprenticeship course and educational internship program by the Ministry of Education in the year of 2017. Under the support of the Office of Teacher Education and Careers Service, Associate Professor Lin Tzu Bin organized the program of "Flying to Northern Europe: apprenticeship program in Sweden". Five pre-service teachers were selected among applicants from different departments and went to Uppsala, Sweden for a two-week oversea apprenticeship program.

Rector University of Münster visits NTNU and Impressed

On September 12, the University of Münster(WWU) Rector Johannes Peter Wessels and Director of the International Officer visited NTNU with the accompany of Secretary Hsieh from the Ministry of Education. President Wu Cheng Chih, Dean Chern Chiou Lan and Director Nikky Lin from the Department of Taiwan Culture, Languages and Literature and Prof. Liu Tsang Long, who has visited WWU welcomed the guests. They have exchanged ideas about student exchange and academic issues.

NTNU Athletes Got 4 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze for Taiwan in 2018 Asian Games

The Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games was held from August 18th to September 2nd, Asian countries all pay much attention to this sports event held once in four years. The students and alumni from the Department of Athletic Performance and Department of Physical Education are in our national team and have taken back 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze.

NTNU Students went to Thailand for gifted education, funded by the Ministry of Education

National Taiwan Normal University has been given the fund for foreign education apprenticeship course and the educational internship program by the Ministry of Education. The Department of Special Education has selected 8 pre-service teachers, led by Prof. Yu Hsiao Ping, for a two-week visit for gifted education Kamnoetvidya Academy of Sciences (KVIS) and the 2018 Asia Pacific Conference on Giftedness in mid-August in Thailand. Those students, coming from different departments like English, Chemistry, Science, Special Education, have all taken gifted education courses.
