NTNU ranked 289th in 2017 QS Rankings

QS World University Rankings of global higher education for 2016/2017 were announced on June 8th. Among more than 40,000 universities worldwide, NTNU was ranked 289 and the ranking of NTNU has been improving for 5 consecutive years. This year, the ranking has risen to 289 from 310, which means that NTNU is one of top 300 universities in the world. The ranking has improved by almost 200 since 2013.

NTNU Students Take an Educational Visit at Vancouver, Canada

The Ministry of Education granted NTNU for the program of “Foreign Internship for College of Teacher’s training”, which is moderated by Prof. Chern Chiou Lan from English Department. Eight outstanding students from NTNU went to Vancouver for a 2 week internship, under the arrangement of University of British Columbia. Gladstone Secondary School, Prince of Wales Secondary School and University Hills Secondary School were part of the schools that offer internship.

Mountains and Seas-A Chinese Rock Musical in NTNU

According to Prof. Gao, the script Mountains and Seas was derived from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, which he kept true to the original. The highlight of the play is that it re-organized the complex story and lots of characters and explicitly record how the ancestors describe the universe.

Research on Nitrogen by NTNU and NTU Published on Science

The cross-nation and cross-school research that includes Prof. Mii Horng Sheng from the Department of Earth Science was published on Science. The principal investigator is Prof. Ren Hao Jia from NTNU while prof. Mii is the 8th author. The press conference by the Ministry of Technology was held on May 19th.

President Awarded a Second Rank Order of Brilliant Star to Honor Prof. Li Shu De

LI Shu De, age 88, is a renowned violinist and honor Prof. at Department of Music, NTNU. On the 22nd of May, President Tsai awarded a second rank order of brilliant Star to honor her contribution on music education in Taiwan. At the Presidential Hall concert that was held at Pingtung for the first time out of the Presidential hall, four outstanding students of Li performed a special piece for their gratitude to their teacher.
